The Dell Rapids Pavilion is located in City Park, just south of Dell Rapids’ historic downtown along the Big Sioux River.
The original structure was built in 1917. The original pavilion quickly became one of the largest in South Dakota. For over 30 years, it served as a hub for dances, roller-skating, reunions, and celebrations. Destroyed by fire in 1947, it was rebuilt and hosted legendary performers like Conway Twitty, Jerry Lee Lewis, The Everly Brothers, and Myron Lee. As music trends changed in the late 1960s, the pavilion saw less activity, was later converted into a manufacturing facility, and eventually was lost again to fire. The original Dell Rapids Pavilion was more than a structure—it was a symbol of community spirit and joy for generations.
A proud tribute to its historic predecessor, the new Dell Rapids Pavilion honors tradition while serving today’s community needs.
